MARCH 28 - APRIL 2, 2010
Welcome! Tucked away and hidden in the San Jaun Mountain range, you will find a skiing paradise! Telluride is proud to host the last NAASF event of the season, and the skiing/boarding should be incredible! Telluride has been blessed with tons of snow this year, and the conditions are superb! Telluride has also opened an entire new bowl, and some EXTREME hike-to terrain! Come play!
This is preliminary information to assist you in your planning, traveling, and lodging needs.
LODGING: (970) 728-6800 NAASF Ski Group
The PEAKS RESORT and SPA. This is the premiere place to stay in Telluride! The resort is located at the base of the mountain in the Mountain Village, and offers many amenities as well as ski in/out. Fortunately, we will all get to stay together in one place, and it is only steps to the slopes, bars, restaurants and parties! They are offering our group premium rooms starting at only $119.00, which is about half the normal price! Junior suites, suites, and “cabins” that sleep 8+ are also available. FYI, there is a wedding group, and a group from Arizona also staying at the Peaks that week, so PLEASE BOOK ASAP! Rooms are limited, and if you call now, you WILL get one…There is no “harm” in reserving a room now, as there is a full, 100% refund if cancelled 10 days prior!
The peaks also has an amazing spa, gym, and indoor/outdoor pool, and hot tubs. Bring a suit…or not.
LIFT TICKETS:
$47.00/day. Purchase at registration.
HOW TO GET TO TELLURIDE:
Telluride has an airport, but it has limited service. It’s basically a day, good weather airport. Great lakes flies into Telluride (TEX) from Denver. The best bet to get to Telluride is to fly into Montrose (MTJ), and take a shuttle. Many airlines fly into MTJ, and it’s a beautiful ride to Telluride! Cortez (CEZ) and Grand Junction (GJT) are also possibilities, to be used as a backup!
SHUTTLE SERVICE:
Mountain Limo, owned and operated by Darci (former airline employee), is giving us a great Airline rate of $35.00/ person for groups of 5 or more, and $40.00/person for less than 5. It’s 68 miles, about 1:20 minutes from MTJ to the Peaks.
To book a reservation: 970-728-9606 or www.mountain-limo.com
THEME PARTY: GOLD RUSH!
Telluride was founded as a mining town in search of GOLD! The Gold Rush of the 1800’s played a huge part in creating the town, and it’s history. The costume possibilities are endless…miners, saloon keepers, mule drivers, mule skinners, mules, bar girls, ladies of the night, gold bars, sheriffs, bank robbers, madams, etc! Think late 1800’s lace, gold rush, and you should be headed in the right direction!
TELLURIDE/MOUNTIAN VILLAGE
We are staying in the Mountain Village, which is a completely separate town than Telluride. They are however connected by a free gondola that runs until 1am every night. Telluride and the Mountain Village are generally considered one place, but it can be confusing! Everyone is encouraged to spend time on the “Telluride” side, and I would also suggest that the Tuesday Night team dinners be held in Telluride. There are many more restaurants and bars in Telluride, and they are generally MUCH cheaper!
ACTIVITIES:
There are MANY activities in and around the Telluride area. Snow Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing trails, Snowmobiling, Heli-Skiing, and Glider Rides over the ski resort to name a few.
MORE INFORMATION
More information will come soon! You will receive a “Flyer” with all the information for the parties, races, registration, etc. via email soon. Please use the above to make your plans to come to Telluride, and make a reservation now to assure you have a room!
